Say you have a large playbook that’s been given to you and your teammates, by your coaching staff, yet for some strange reason, y’all just don’t seem to be quite winning the war of possessions… ! What do you think might be the root cause of this ?
If you had come to our DPS clinic May 25th we could have given you number of solutions as to the root problem . . .
So . . . since this was not taken advantage of, I’ll tell you what you missed . . .
You, as a player should understand this one ( 1 ) rule of thumb, you must learn how to move without the ball. Ball domination is NOT the key in basketball, movement is ! The better your movement happens to be, in and around your teammates on the court, the better any team shall be verses an opponent. So, what does this mean ? Can y’all effectively perform a pick and roll / pick and pop ? Do you know what it means to flatten out ? Backdoor cut, anyone ? Trace the ball ? Do you effectively space a floor ? Do you fill the lanes properly when running a fast break ? Can you get post touches to help with opening up the rest of the floor, and how do y’all react to double teams after that touch is made ?
These are just a few questions that should and will pop into your head as you become a more complete player.
SO, DO YOU . . . WANNA BECOME A MORE COMPLETE BASKETBALL SCHOLAR . . . ?
A.K.A. A MORE DOMINATE BASKETBALL PLAYER . . .
IT WOULD BEHOOVE YOU, TO COME SEEK US OUT . . . LET’S GO ALREADY . . .
